Wired Backup Camera System Installation
Ⅰ. Wiring Overview
- The display screen has a main wiring harness that branches off into two 4-pin connectors, which are connected to the CH1 and CH2 cameras, respectively (if using four cameras, the wiring method is the same; the following instructions are based on a two-camera setup);
- Power supply for the main unit: **Cigarette lighter plug OR USB plug—choose one to power the entire system**;
- Reverse trigger wire: Connect to the vehicle's reverse light power wire; the system will automatically switch to the reverse view when reverse gear is engaged.
Ⅱ. Step-by-Step Installation Instructions
### Step 1: Camera Wiring and Connection
1. Plug one end of each of the two 4-pin cables into the CH1 and CH2 ports on the display, respectively;
2. Connect the other end of each 4-pin cable to the CH1 and CH2 cameras, respectively;
### Step 2: Powering the Main Unit (Choose One of the Two Methods)
- Option A: Cigarette Lighter Power: Plug the cigarette lighter plug into the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket, and connect the other end to the display's power port;
- Option B: USB Power: Use a USB power cable to connect to the vehicle's USB port, and connect the other end to the display's power port.
### Step 3: Reverse Trigger Function
Connect the reverse trigger wire to the positive power wire of the vehicle's reverse light.
> Functionality: When the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear and the reverse light turns on, the screen automatically switches to the corresponding reverse camera view. If this function is not needed, leave this wire harness unconnected.
### Step 4: Mounting the Equipment
1. Mount the display in a suitable location inside the vehicle;
2. Install the CH1 and CH2 cameras on the exterior of the vehicle at the locations you wish to monitor (rear, sides, etc.). Adjust the shooting angle and secure the mounts;
3. Organize all wiring, routing it along the vehicle's body seams and securing it in place. Avoid areas prone to high temperatures or compression to prevent wire wear.
Ⅲ. Power-On Test
1. Turn on the vehicle's ignition to power on the screen; confirm that the camera images are displayed normally;
2. Test by shifting into reverse gear: If the reverse trigger wire is connected, the screen should automatically switch to the reverse camera view;
3. Check the image clarity, then fine-tune the camera angles for the best field of view.
Ⅳ. Precautions
1. Not connecting the reverse trigger wire does not affect normal monitoring operation; it simply disables the automatic switch to the reverse camera view;
2. Ensure the wiring harness connectors for outdoor cameras are properly waterproofed, and tighten the 4-pin connectors securely;
3. Route the wiring away from high-temperature areas near the engine to prevent damage to the wiring harness and short circuits.
